Gift card error, Your payment authorization failed on card

I am trying to use two gift cards I traded reward points for online. I also then pay the remaining balance with my credit card. It shows that my apple gift cards have balances but when I execute the order I get the following error on the first gift card:

Your payment authorization failed on card •••9772. Please verify your information and try again, or try another payment method.

I've tried apple pay, my credit card, etc and nothing works. The failed number on the card is the gift card, not my credit card. I see this as a recurring issue on support without a concrete solution. Most saying contacting support doesn't help and is a waste of time.

Trying to use a redeemed Apple Gift Card would not generate a "payment authorization failed" error message with a card number, nor would attempting to redeem an Apple Gift Card generate such an error. That error message would only come from a credit card issuer failing to validate the charge to the card. If this gift card is a Visa or MasterCard gift card or something else not issued by Apple, you need to contact the issuer of that card for assistance.

Ahh, yes, Chase Ultimate Rewards Points. Chase Rewards Points support team handles those issues, not Apple. Make sure they open a support ticket and get the number so you can follow up. Good luck!

varjak paw — this is a Chase Ultimate Rewards Points issue. They redeem CURP and receive Apple Gift cards. The gift cards can be used at a special Chase Portal. It’s legitimate. Chase usually does an excellent job, but this holiday season they’re having a few glitches.

Apple Gift Cards I received from Chase Reward points. Not from Apple. The gift cards are valid and show their value when I enter them online. It is only when I add my credit card to cover the rest of the fee when the transaction fails. Note I have used these Apple gift cards in the past and they have worked fine.
