the replacement was handled by a specialist but I have no idea if they are Apple-authorized

We gave you the information and tools that you needed to answer this question.

Please use the link that I provided.......Find Locations........to see if the shop was Apple authorized. If they are, you will see their name appear among other authorized shops in your area when you use the link.

This is very important.......a non-authorized shop does not have access to genuine Apple replacement parts and instead must use 3rd party parts that do not meet the specifications of a genuine part.

If a non-authorized shop replaced your screen, they used the wrong part. No surprise that it did not work correctly.

And the second try was also not a genuine part. If this is the case, again no surprise that the screen is still not working correctly.

Post back to tell us whether the service was performed by an authorized Apple shop so we can discuss your available options at this point.

When you say that you changed the screen.......does this mean that you performed the service yourself? Or, was the screen replacement handled by a repair shop?

If the screen replacement was handled by a repair shop, was this an Apple authorized shop? If the shop was authorized, they will appear in the list of authorized Apple service shops in your area when you click on this link:

Find Locations

If repairs were done by a shop, what did the shop say when you took the phone back to them?

Since they did not fix your phone, what compensation was offered to you? It sounds like you may want to get the Better Business Bureau involved and possibly your lawyer.

Unfortunately, since an unauthorized shop got into the phone, Apple will refuse to even look at your phone now, so your only options would be to continue to work with the shop that you have used or take the phone to another unauthorized shop.

Frankly, since another shop will not be able to obtain a genuine replacement screen, the phone is never going to work correctly, so it is probably best to cut your losses at this time and look for another phone.

It is unfortunate that you have learned a painful lesson about the importance of having your iPhone serviced at an Apple authorized shop.

Good luck
