Macbook Pro M4 high bandwidth use despite Activity Monitor/Malwarebyte scan being clear

I am on day 3 of using my new Macbook Pro M4 14" and noticed through routerlogin.net that my Mac is using quite a lot of bandwidth that is impacting my internet speeds. Bandwidth is only being used through HTTP Protocol over TLS SSL.

Activity monitor looks to be clear.

I have tried Wireshark, I am not the most computer savy but it looks clear as well?

A Malwarebytes scan also shows malware is not an issue.

Could someone please help me figure out what the culprit is?

For one the Speed is lower because and from your first image

The wifi connection is over a 2.4 gHz connection

Whether the Router supports wifi 6E "

You may what to explore this further with a maker of the Router

FYI - using a M4 Desktop and the difference between 2.4 gHz and 5 gHz and 6E gHz is like day and night

Over a 5 gHz from a Fibre Optic to router is exactly what I play for

Over a 6E ghz from the same router is about 1 GB up and down speeds, consistently

Use Wi-Fi 6E networks with Apple devices

My router does not support wifi 6 unfortunately.

I solved the issue, changing the screensaver from shuffle to a static screensaver stopped the bandwidth usage. I did not expect it to take so long to download.

I was hasty in posting this issue, I tried to delete the post but I had restarted my laptop and lost the ability to do so after re-visiting this thread after solving the issue.
