Spotlight Indexing not working with Outlook for Mac since Sequoia 15.1.1 update

Since the latest update to MacOS Sequoia 15.1.1 I am no longer able to search for emails in Outlook for Mac (Legacy) by, sender, title or anything. Unfortunatley Mac Mail just doesn't cut it from a professional looking point of view.


I have scoured the net for a fix and followed every possible scenario and nothing works after nearly a week of trials and tribulations I am at the end of my tether.


I get around 200 emails a day and so being able to search is imperative to my work flow. I own a Freight Forwarding company where literally seconds can depend on winning or losing a job.


Methods tried so far:


Completely uninstall all Microsoft Office programs including all hidden files. Reinstall and 24 hours later still no search available.

Added the UBF8T346G9.Office folder to the Spotlight Privacy tab, closed Outlook, rebooted computer, removed the file from spotlight privacy tab, rebooted. Waited 24 hours still no search available.

And lastly used the mdimport input via terminal, rebooted, waitied 24 hours still no search available.


System:

Mac Studio Max M2 4TB 96gb

OS: Sequoia 15.1.1

Microsoft Office 365 (all updates installed)

Mac Studio, macOS 15.1

I have exactly the same issue. I updated Outlook to 16.93 and to Sequoia 15.1.1 and the disaster happened. I have been doing like you: all the usual fixes but NOTHING is solving the issue.


I had that same problem happened 2 years ago approximately. I updated the software and search stopped working. The MS community finally came together and MS issued a patch to solve the issue. I suggest not wasting your time and nerves on trying all of the recommended fixes. They will not work. MS needs to issue a patch ASAP.


Like you, I run a business and receive hundreds of email messages per day. Without search, I cannot sustain my work. In Updates, I even selected "beta Channel" in order to receive the fix ASAP. That's my best recommendation.


Microsoft support needs to get on it. There are thousands of people out there in big trouble because of the upgrade.
