How to set up Apple Pencil with iPad

I have an apple ipad 10th generation. I’ve just bought an Apple Pencil 1 and the pressure sensitivity won’t work with procreate. Everything else except for pen pressure work fine. This is the second Apple Pencil 1 that I’ve bought and neither have pressure sensitivity. This is a must for me. I know the USB-C won’t work since they don’t support pen pressure.

What pencil do I need to get to have pressure sensitivity, especially for procreate? Or is it my iPads problem?

The issue you're facing is due to compatibility, or lack thereof. Although the Apple Pencil (1st generation) is fully compatible with the iPad 10th generation via the USB-C to Lightning adapter, it does not support pressure sensitivity with Procreate with this iPad model. AFAIK, this is a known limitation of the hardware and software compatibility between the two.

The reason is that the 1st gen pencil lacks full pressure sensitivity support when used in conjuction with the USB-C adapter setup that is required for the 10th gen iPad. This is not a fault of the iPad or the Apple Pencil itself but rather a limitation of how they interact due to the unique setup for this iPad model.

The only potential work around is to try using another pencil, that also supports pressure sensitivity, like either the Logitech Crayon, or the Adonit Note+.
