The text I received originated in the Philippines (+6*********4). The call back number given is +1 8*******1.
The text said the $143.95 was paid by Apple Pay Pre Authorization.
This is a scam. There are misspellings in the text and it contains a dire warning if I do not call the above call back number.

Yep it is a scam and that same message has been seen here many times. Simply deleting it is all that is required, although you can report it as well.
As with any Message or Email, simply review them as potential information only and never respond by calling a number or with a link that wants to know any personal information. You always have options to verify the information from known sources without responding to the message.
