I have an External HD that I have uploaded the music from to iTunes. I can view all the artists and albums however; nothing is playing when selected. This is on a HP Laptop but what I had already downloaded on their previously played fine last night. How can I get these tracks to play now that they have been downloaded?

Is the external drive connected right now? Depending on the state of an option (Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Copy files...) imported media can be referenced on its original path, or copied into the media folder. If you used the former method and the drive is not currently connected, or has connected with a different drive letter, then iTunes won't be able to access any of the tracks to play them. In the Songs view of the library this would show up with exclamation marks.
