Apple watch has stopped recording calories.

My Apple watch has stopped showing calories and heart rate. I have also noticed that as of November 21st 2024 the Fitness app on iPhone is no longer collecting any data.

WatchOS is 8.8.1, iOS is 18.1.1

Any advice on how to solve this problem would be appreciated.

Do you have a series 3 watch because you are on watchOS 8? If you have a newer watch please update it to the latest version to see if the issues persist

After that check this:

Go on your iPhone to settings>privacy >motion and fitness. See if fitness tracking and health are on.

Then go to the watch app>general>see if workout power saving mode is off

Then on the watch app, go to privacy and check that heart rate and fitness tracking are on

Then, go to passcode>wrist detection and see if that is on

If your heart rate sensor is still not working you might want to Contact - Official Apple Support to set up hardware service for your Mac

Hello WheelieNick, many thanks for replying. Yes it is a Series 3 watch.

Go on your iPhone to settings>privacy >motion and fitness. See if fitness tracking and health are on.

They are both on.

Then go to the watch app>general>see if workout power saving mode is off

It is off.

Then on the watch app, go to privacy and check that heart rate and fitness tracking are on

They are both on.

Then, go to passcode>wrist detection and see if that is on

It is on.

Looks like I will have to go to Official Apple Support. I won't be pleased if I am told the watch is just too old.
