Is anyone else finding the 18 update absolutely horrible? I can’t edit photos, the photo interface is so unfriendly, amongst so many other issues. Does anyone know a legitimate safe way to go back to 17? I don’t even want to use my phone anymore. I’ve been an iPhone user all my life, I don’t want it anymore if I can’t go back to 17.

You cannot downgrade iOS. It has never been supported. So you'll have to learn more about the new Photos App and editing photos in iOS 18.
I'm having absolutely no issues with iOS 18. I can edit photos just as I was able to before the update. Are you tapping the button with three sliders in it, to bring up all the edit functions? Yes, the photos app is changed, but it offers more than it ever did and it can be customized, when it never could be customized before. You can make it look more like what you were accustomed to.
