13" 2020 Intel MBP compatibility with latest Magic Keyboard

Just purchased the latest Magic Keyboard with Touch ID. The compatibility list indicates the keyboard is compatible with the 2020 13" MBP however, I cannot get the Touch ID to work. Suggestions?

Magic keyboard w/ touch ID compatible with Mac Mini 2018? I plan to get a new Mac Mini AS soon, but I need a new Magic keyboard now. I want to get the version w/ touch ID so I can use it with the future Mac Mini. I know that the touch ID won't work with the Mac Mini 2018, but I can't find anywhere whether it will otherwise work fine aside from the touch ID, or whether the entire keyboard is completely incompatible and won't work with a Mac Mini 2018 (or any pre-AS Mac) at all?

Using touch ID with iMac Retina 5K, 27-inch 2020 In the product specification for the Apple Magic Keyboard with touch ID and numeric keyboard, it says that this keyboard is compatible with the iMac Retina 5K, 27 inch 2020. I bought it to use the touch id function, but I am unable to set it up.

The keyboard and the typing function are supported, but Touch ID on an external keyboard only works with apple silicon Macs I am afraid
