AVB/EAV mode Network Disconnects in Mac Silicon

Network disconnects to ethernet connected NAS servers are a common problem.

AVB/EAV mode can cause network ethernet disconnects under certain circumstances.

First of all, what is it?

AVB/EAV provides synchronization and low latency for Audio and Video. Why? Collaboration between remote users. Examples - recording music with multiple users in remote locations - or Video Conferencing with Zoom Rooms. So if you are not performing these or similar activities, you can safely turn if off, or only turn it on when you need it.

How to enable and disable.

In System Setting choose Network. Now choose Ethernet from the right column and then click on Details at upper right. Choose Hardware at the bottom of the list on the left. In the right column set Configure to Manual. You can now enable or disable AVB/EAV mode with the button.

I have an experience where I have to keep AVB/EAV enabled to fix an issue where if I AirPlay from the Apple Music app on my MacStudio running Sequoia to HomePods the audio would stop after about 5 seconds. I would then start the AirPlay to HomePods again and the audio would again stop after 5 seconds. This was a repeatable issue every time I tried to AirPlay to HomePods.
