Using Aux cord to usd c adapter in car. iPhone treats it like headphones.

With my old phone that using lightning when I connected it to aux with an adapter a popup asked if it was headphones or other and you could change this in settings. Now with the new usb type c port when I plug in an adapter it doesn’t ask this and makes it headphones so now my music on the speakers is half as loud. I couldn’t find anything in settings or any discussion talking about this with the new port. If anyone knows how to change this or if it’s a bug from apple please let me know.

AFAIK, this is not a "bug" with your iPhone, but could be a compatibility issue with the type of adapter and what your car supports.

I suggest that you contact Belkin, Apple Support, and your car's manufacturing support to see if they can shed any light into this matter as there is no way that most of us here can duplicate the issue you are having.

What exact adapter are you trying to use? Are you using it to connect this iPhone to your vehicle's audio system? If so, what type of audio port does your vehicle have? Also, are you sure this port is a data, and not just a power port?

Its a Belkin adapter 2 in 1 aux to usb type c and I use it just for audio.

The car uses an aux 3.5mm cord and it transmits data because I previously used an adapter from aux 3.5mm to lightning with my older phone.
