How can I record audio while screen recording on Mac?

I used to have soundflower, but that was on an older mac. Now I got an M4, and soundlfower and blackhole do nothing at all. I am not the best with computers so I'm aware it could be an issue on my end, but I'm following several youtube videos instructions and none of them are allowing me to screen record my laptop and get the audio. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'll pay for something if it works.

blackhole works good for me. have you set it up properly? and when you are going to start a recording, are you choosing the correct options?

if you would, can you share some screen shots with me? I would like to see:

your microphone options in the recording controls options.
your multi output device in your audio MIDI settings.
and your menubar sound options.
