downloading pictures into photo from an Samsung (android) phone
in the past there was a tool - but I can not find it anymore. Any other options to download pictures directly from an android phone to our mac?

Try using a cable to plug the phone in \to the Mac and using the Apple app "Image Capture" that's in your Applications folder. I've used that with various kinds of cameras and scanners, and it should be OK.
