You cannot trade-in a phone that has been repaired by a third party. Once that is discovered any trade-in will be rejected out of hand. Your only option will be send in the iPhone 12 for proper recycling. Or you can recycle it yourself by taking it to a licensed recycling center. Whatever you decide do not toss it in the trash where it will become electronic waste.

I'm not clear in your actual situation. If you haven't sent the old iPhone in, there's nothing you need to do, though if you have ordered a new iPhone and added a trade-in to the order, you can contact Apple Store support and ask them to cancel the trade-in so you don't get bugged with notices that you haven't sent your trade-in to them yet. If you did send in your old iPhone, just reject the trade-in offer of "zero credit" and they should send it back. If you have sent it for recycling, not trade-in, then there's probably no way to get it back now.

Regards.

No I wanted to buy a new phone and when I wanted to trade in my phone it shows "recycle for free". I wanted to know if I can get my 12 pro max recycled back to me.

No. They are not going to 'recycle' it back to you.

That's not what recycling means... It will be stripped for parts and precious metals. Any dangerous materials will be disposed of safely. It doesn't mean they will fix it up and give it back to you.

Are you asking whether you can have your iPhone repaired?

Repairing (fixing) a phone is quite different from recycling it. Recycling it is the same thing as throwing it in the trash, except that the people who you give the phone to will try to reuse some of its raw materials, (Just like when you recycle empty soda cans instead of throwing them into regular trash and having them take up space in landfill.)
