I’m no longer getting any notifications of text messages. At first I was not getting sound but the phone would vibrate but now it has stopped vibrating as well. As I am profoundly deaf most of my phone communication is via text messages so this is a significant problem for me. I have turned all relevant settings off and on and rebooted the phone. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

I was having this problem on a brand new iPhone 16 Pro Max. It worked fine the first few days I had it then suddenly about 2 days ago I was getting no text notifications on the phone. I also have an Apple Watch and it was not getting any notifications for texts. Today I discovered that it worked fine when the phone screen was unlocked. Another user on this forum that had the same hardware resolved the problem by going into the watch settings on the phone under Passcode and disabling wrist detection. Both devices then gave me sound notifications, but you will miss out on some features leaving this setting off. However, when I re-enabled wrist detection, everything worked as it should! I have no idea how or why, but it did. Try this if you have an Apple watch!
