Apple TV still glitching

Have done it all: reset, reprogram, etc

However,we are still having issues.

Up next program

Click and asked for me to connect

Connect and the spiral of doom appears and nothing happens

Go back till where app is and then go into the app and can go to the program no problem, so it IS CONNECTED

Then Up Next doesn't update so I have to mark as watched

This isn't very pleasant and has only started to happen with updates and. when I reset it, it updates itself so I can't stop the update

I have posted on a forum before but it seems like no solution -

So, I am starting to research whether I should just switch out of Apple TV all altogether and move to just having something else -

Apple TV (3rd generation)

In previous posts, you indicated having an Apple TV HD (4th generation) and Apple TV 4K.

Is this about a different device?

Resetting an Apple device doesn’t revert to an earlier OS version. That includes Apple TV. It works as Apple intended.

In this instance, ‘connected’ means that a third party app connects to the Apple TV app. It says nothing about connecting to remote servers to watch content.

Then Up Next doesn't update so I have to mark as watched

As a last resort, clear the play history, then force-quit the relevant apps, then restart the device. Up Next/Continue Watching will be empty now. Then try again. Make notes on what to add back beforehand.
