Continuity Camera only works with cable on Mac mini M4

For what it's worth, I'm having the same issue: new M4 Mac Mini, iPhone 14 Pro. Will only work if wired, but if I unplug it after it connects via wire, it then works wirelessly, at if I don't quit FaceTime. If I do, I have to remember to plug it back in.

I recently had to contact Apple Support regarding this issue (M4 Mini, iPhone 13 Pro Max).

After numerous support calls to verify that all the necessary settings were correctly configure, which they confirmed they were, I received a final response.

According to information documented in an internal system (which could not be disclosed to me), Mac computers without built-in cameras do not support the wireless use of the iPhone Continuity Camera feature.

This explanation contradicts videos on YouTube that demonstrate the feature working wirelessly. However, in my case, it still does not function wirelessly at all.

I find the explanation provided by Apple Support difficult to believe. It seems more logical for a Mac without a camera to prioritise the ability to connect wirelessly to an iPhone for camera functionality.

That being said, using a cable works perfectly fine.

Same here. Start working only if wired than I unplug and it work wirelessly if I don't quit the video app.

Have you installed any third-party Anti-Virus, Protecting, Cleaning software or use a VPN..?

I got mine to work by disconnecting my monitor from the usb c port and only using the HDMI port. Direct connecting the phone to the mini.

Now it works! My Phone is not directly connected to the mini. No matter what I do now it works even after several shutdowns and restarts. I have 3 monitors all hooked up 2 usb c and 1 HDMI. Mac mini M4

PS as my main monitor I use a 27" late 2009 iMac works Great!

I have no issues using iPhone 13 with my Mac Mini M4 Pro wirelessly. Did you follow all setup instructions?
