Why do I receive two copies of my text messages?
if i send myself a text message why do i always get the message twice?

If you’re using an iPhone, your messages might be synced across multiple email addresses or phone numbers associated with your iMessage. Check your iMessage settings under Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and ensure only one number or email is selected.
Or
Some apps or automations like shortcuts could be inadvertently duplicating the message. Check if you’ve set up any that might cause this
