If iPhone is locked to the owner what should I do?

If you are the owner to whom it is locked, enter the requested credentials – your Apple ID and Apple ID password.


If you are the original purchaser, and have proof of original purchase that would be satisfactory to Apple (e.g., from Apple or an Apple Authorized Reseller, showing your name and the phone's serial number), you can start an Activation Lock support request. Don't bother starting one if you don't have the required proof.

If you bought a used phone, or found one, and are just now discovering that it is Activation Locked, see
