Can I hide message groups without deleting the past messages? Can I archive the messages?

Hey Walker,

As far as I know, there is no way to archive or save messages without deleting them forever. I'm not sure if these forums allow recommending other apps/tools, but I use an application called iMazing. It's available for Mac and PC, I use it to back my iPhone up every ~3 months just as a failsafe along with iCloud.

But I found it's also a great way to "archive" messages you want to keep while clearing up space on your iPhone.

It's a paid service, but a one time fee instead of a yearly subscription, which I much prefer. I don't recall how much it cost, but well worth it in my opinion to not only back up your entire phone (it can store multiple backups without overwriting previous data), and also manage your apps, files, photos, etc. It's really more of an iPhone editor that also can back it up.

I want to add I'm not affiliated with them in any way, I'm just a big fan.

Good luck,

D
