In Search Of: A Left-Hand Scroll Bar Option

When do we think Apple will sympathize with lefties and provide the option to scroll on the left for Mac computers? Keeping a straight line when scrolling on the right with the mouse in my left hand is hard, and using my right hand on the trackpad causes tightness in my neck and shoulder. Using the mouse with my right hand feels unnatural. I don't understand why a left-hand scroll bar hasn't been an option all along, especially since Apple prides itself on intuitive tools. Why have left-handed people not been accommodated?

None here can answer the 'when' and 'why' questions of Apple's operations. FWIW, these Apple Communities forums are user-only, peer-to-peer support forums. You are not speaking to Apple here and we understand Apple don’t actively participate here.

If you have a mouse with a wheel, or a Magic Mouse, or Magic Trackpad, that will scroll the scrollbar for you.

As for alternative options, Logitech offers a left-handed Lift mouse, and the core functions of that including the wheel will and the three buttons will work without the add-on Logitech apps.

Prior to switching full time to a trackpad, I heavily used the predecessor to the Logitech M650 L Left left-handed mouse, and that worked well.

As mentioned above, the Apple Magic Trackpad and Magic Mouse allow scrolling windows with a gesture, as well.
