The Operation Can't Drive Be Completed. Couldn't communicate with a helper application.

I tried deleting my recently deleted downloads and files on the app files. The app would not let me because it says The Operation Can't Be Completed. Couldn't communicate with a helper application. I do not know what this means. It would however let me delete them originally the first time before it is deleted forever. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
