How do I remove the Safari from the iPad Storage?

I believe that I have a Safari profile which I didn't create . I managed to remove it from iCloud but in iPad Storage , the options to offload or delete the app are not there for Safari as they are for the other apps .

Sorry, but that's all that I have for you to try. Rest assured, the unneeded profile, if it cannot be removed, requires an insignificant amount of internal storage.

If needed, you might try seeking advice directly from Apple Support. You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page.

Alternatively, you can initiate and manage your support cases from Apple devices using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:

Hi Mr. LotusPilot ,

So after I updated to iPad OS18 I was curious about the new Safari profiles. I didn't really create one , I just tapped it in the Safari settings to see what it was like , though a new profile was created anyway .

It's 329 MB , zero extensions & zero reading list items , that's how I know it's not the original.

In iCloud storage , Safari is 853.3 KB and never changes . They were both in iCloud storage though I managed to remove the profile one .

What I'm trying to accomplish is to remove the profile from iPad Storage .

Here is a pic :

Safari profiles are added or removed from settings:

Settings > Apps > Safari > [Profiles]

As for successfully removing a Safari profile from iCloud - but not from iPad Storage - I am struggling to comprehend precisely what you are attempting to achieve.

Safari is one of the few Apps embedded within iPadOS at a system level - and cannot be offloaded or deleted as you can with many other Apps. While Safari itself can't be deleted, you don't have to use it if you have preference for an alternative browser App - such as Firefox, Opera, Chrome or something else.

With your chosen browser installed, this can be set as your default in iPad settings:

Settings > Apps > [Your preferred browser] > Default Browser App - select from list

Thank you , it's a very detailed and informative article though like most of them omits the " default personal profile " which is automatically created based on your current settings . This is what needs removing , I didn't make it & I don't want it but it may not be deletable .

I guess it's staying for now , I appreciate all of your support .💯
