My Macbook Pro keeps sending me a audible notification and dimming the screen

I have disabled notifications on all my apps on system settings. My mac still keeps on dimming the screen and sending an audible notification periodically. I can't tell what is causing it. The only apps I have open are Chrome and my Nord VPN app. The issue occurs without any apps being open at all. I thought I might have a virus, but I ran an scan which found nothing.

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 15.1

I would check you Accessibility settings...(?) for example see >Audio

To trouble shoot further you can:

—A SafeBoot Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support will sort many anomalies

This test will tell you if third party interference; most extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.

—Test issue in another user (or guest user) account Change Users & Groups settings on Mac - Apple Support

This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.

unplug all non-essential peripherals when testing

Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/VPN/Anti-Virus

all known to cause issues on the macOS
