Solved: Why some Live Photos don’t create animated stickers

I came here looking for the answer to the question of why some Live Photos don’t turn into animated stickers while some do, and it seems to be random. I could not find any answers, but as I continued to troubleshoot, I figured out the answer myself. Since the older questions were locked out, I had to add a new question in order to enter the answer.

Solution: Just be patient

When you create the sticker and it first gets dropped into the Sticker section, do not click on Add Effect right away. Wait until the little clock at the lower right hand corner of the sticker finishes loading (it only takes a second) before you click Add Effect. If you click Add Effect before the clock is done loading, it will not give you the Live option on the top left, ever for that sticker.

So if you’re ever creating a sticker from a Live Photo and it is not giving you the Live option on the top left under Add Effect, delete that sticker add it again and be patient, wait for the clock to load and then click Add Effect.

So happy I finally figured this one out because it was really stumping me.
