Final Cut Pro 11 Share Failed Error

Hello everyone, after using premiere pro for 2 years, I switched to Final Cut. I used it in the office for 1 year and I was very pleased that the classic Apple logic of simplicity and simplicity was applied here. However, when I use the application on my own computer, the project gives a “share failed” error while outputting over and over again. It says there is an error in the xxxxth frame. Most of the solutions on the internet are to delete that frame, but this is an editing program and it should be faithful to the editing I did. This is definitely not the solution. Another solution is to render the timeline before exporting. At first this was the solution for me, but then it became obsolete. When I do this, sometimes it works, but most of the time it doesn't work and I embarrass my clients. I waited thinking that maybe it would be fixed with an update, but there was no solution in FCP11. So I switched to Da'Vinci Resolve, but I still like to use Final Cut Pro for fast work. If you can help me with this problem, I would appreciate it. I live in Turkey and I don't speak English (I translated this article with DeepL, sorry for the mistakes) Apple Support is only available in English by phone. So I couldn't get support directly from Apple, I would be really happy if you could help me. Regards.

This usually means either a problem with the media, or a bad render file.

If export fails with same bad frame error, start by deleting All render files.

Also, always keep "background render" off in the Settings, because it is not needed and creates render files that take up a lot of space.

Sometimes if a clip has problems, it may help if you create optimized media (just for that clip, no need to again create huge files that take up a lot of space).

If this is something that happens all the time then there is either problem dealing with that type of media (then maybe someone using that same type of media can add some insight), or maybe there is something else interfering with FCP normal operations - this could be several third party extensions, daemons or agents.

You may want to run Etrecheck and see what it says, and share the report here so others can look for anything that could be problematic.

First of all, you need to take care of the space problem.

You should really get yourself an external SSD and make space in the internal one.

Even if not for doing video, running on a nearly full system drive is a very dangerous thing to do. You not only hurt performance, but risk crashes and, worse, loss of data.

LocaAlicia's suggestion to use optimized media can only be tried once you get the space

problem resolved. At times, there could be problems with some files, and optimizing in those cases could help, but not when your drive is bursting at the seams!

Do get an external drive (an SSD if possible), put your media there and clear the space on the internal, then try again. It could even be that the error above is due to no space available, and not the media itself.

It says there is an error in the xxxxth frame.

I also think, as Luis said, that I have some problems with some parts of the media. Your best bet is to use optimized media.

Q1: Can I see a screenshot of the warning message?

Q2: Is there a difference before and after optimization?

The report states that there are various problems with the Mac. Insufficient capacity will affect export.

It's good to have those 40% free.

Some projects may use little space, some can use a lot more than 250GB.

Please clarify:

1) Where is the library now? On the external or the internal?

2) Where are you trying to export to now? To the external or internal?

3) Where are you trying to create the optimized media? The default location is inside the library, so if the library is in the internal drive, then it is not surprising that the drive gets full.

Also: the suggestion to create optimized media was NOT for all the clips, but just for those which had problems (assuming that the reason they failed to export was due to a problem in the clip, and not other, like... space).

To reiterate: Usually, there is NO need to create optimized media, this was only suggested as a possible way to solve the problem.

It's always close. I usually work with large files; Slog3-Cine 4:2:2. But I get a proxy and the computer is 256 GB. Usually max. 120gb is free. I work from a Sandisk 2TB disk, and before you say it, yes it is APFS formatted :)

Thank you very, very much for your help, but if you don't misunderstand, this is not a permanent solution either. Clean the cache before each export. The most problematic program is usually Adobe programs, and even with them I have not experienced anything like this. Besides, this is Apple's own program. The processor is theirs again, the computer is theirs :)

Here is the error in this image. However, as you said, it was fixed when I bought optimized media. I just remember I've tried this before, but it's not a permanent solution, sometimes even if I buy optimized media, the problem may still occur. But if you don't have any other solution, there is nothing else to do. Anyway, thank you for everything, for all your work and effort.

Hello, you advised me to use optimized media, but optimized media produces data that is on average 7-8 times the size of the main video. Is there somewhere I can change this? Otherwise it is impossible for me to work this way. Nowadays a 2TB disk is the ideal size. And I have 250 gb of files. which is very small compared to most of the time. I can't get optimized media, so I guess the only option is to optimize only the footage used after the editing is done?

Mr. Luis, thank you very much for your help, and I can imagine that you try to help many users a day. Moreover, since I use a language translator, you may not be able to understand what I write, but I really think that you do not understand what I write. Please do not take this as disrespect. I'm serious, I don't want to offend you.

However, when I shared the report of not enough space on my disk, I also stated that “for a short time for a project, this is how full my disk space is.” Normally my disk is about 40% free (I can't free more because I'm using a 256gb model).

Secondly, as I mentioned in my previous post, I'm already using an SSD, SanDisk APFS formatted and 2TB. And I only have 250gb of images of the project I'm working on right now. I bought a 160GB proxy, but I can't get Optimized media, it says there is no space on my disk. My question here was: 2TB is ideal for a disk, 250gb is a very reasonable level for a project. Now, if I cannot get Optimized media under these conditions, how will I get it in the next 1TB -2TB projects? Is there any way to lower the Optimized media settings? I wanted to ask, but I guess I am not understood. Love and respect, good work.

1) The library is currently on my external disk in a folder specific to the project I am working on.

2) All the proxies, optimized media, etc. that I get are all going to the external disk. I do not transfer anything else.

3) I try to get the optimized media in the project I am working on in my external disk, which has more than 1.5 TB of space.

4) I tried it for clips that I only use in the timeline, it still said I had no space. So I bought 1 optimized media. It took about 9GB to optimize an 800mb file. No wonder it said no space. But I think apple should give us a customizable settings tab. just like in Da'Vinci.
