Screen Mirroring over Airplay no longer working on MacOS 15.2

Just updated to MacOS 15.2, and I can no longer mirror my Macs screen to my Airplay device. However my iPhone, also updated to the latest iOS can mirror it's screen perfectly fine, and I can also stream music and Youtube videos to my Airplay device from my Mac, but for some reason Screen Mirroring is specifically the only thing not working. I think it has to do with the recent update for Presenter mode

Same issue after upgrading to 15.2 on my MacBook Pro 13. I was able to get airplay to work after disabling Firewall network settings, airplay to monitor, re-enable firewall.

So it turns out it's because I have a network/content filter called Lulu installed. After I disabled it in network settings, the mirroring started to work again. Not sure why this is since it was working before the update, but at least its a temporary fix

I had Cisco AnyConnect Socket Filter. I tried disabling it in System Settings -> Network -> VPN & Filters, but it has re-enabled itself automatically a few seconds later. I also tried clicking on the - button to remove it, but it came back automatically within a few seconds. I ended up using Finder to delete it. Now screen mirroring works fine.

I too didn't notice this as an issue until last night when I was trying to screencast to my Samsung living room tv. Did so much research all over the internet and tried disabling Lulu and Little Snitch apps. Tried restarting both tv and Macbook Pro M3 and still had issues. The devices were communicating but I would only get a black screen on the tv. Tested other devices around the house including phones and tablets. All screen casted with no issues at all. So it is something with the latest update to version 15.2 of OSX. So after trial and error the best solution I found was going into the settings on my laptop and disabling the Apple Firewall. Who would've known right? So I hope Apple investigates this issue and resolves it with it's latest software update. I hope this helps but yes, disable Apple Firewall. I don't recommend it, but for the time being if you are trying to screen cast it is your temporary solution.

I have a m1 macbook pro. Prior to the 15.2 release of Mac OS I was able to mirror my screen to my Ipad Pro via USB C cable or via WiFi. Since "upgrading" to mac OS 15.2 a month ago I have not been able to do this. Does anyone have any idea when there will be a fix for this issue? I did like having a second display. Since "upgrading" I have not been able to have one.

I understand that things take time but it's been a while already and it seems to be wide spread.

Thanks, Matt

I had a similar problem. In my case, I was having trouble using screen mirroring to connect my MacBook Pro (running macOS 15.2) to my MacBook Air. As a temporary workaround, I turned off the firewall on my MacBook Pro while I was starting screen mirroring.

Today, macOS 15.3 was released, so I updated to this version and found that I could now start screen mirroring even with the firewall on!
