Why is Siri unavailable with Chat GPT?

When using Siri with Chat GPT I get a message: “ chat gpt unavailable at this time, try again later .” Why is this? It just rolled out? When will it work?

For the first few days everything worked great with Siri and ChatGPT , now I get the same message chatGPT is unavailable! However if I go direct to the ChatGPT App it works fine, so there is an issue between Siri and ChatGPT!

Hey! My ChatGPT is also not working but turns out the app has some issues going on with it, at the moment, but on the bright side it should be up and running no later than next week!! I hope this helps a bit, didnt want to be so "straightfoward" like techenthusiast

I know some people are actually geniune and need explaning!

Hey everyone,

I’ve tried everything possible. Sent tons of emails to OpenAI, contacted Apple multiple times, and my region is set to the U.S.

I’ve used different VPNs and tried servers from various cities in the U.S. and Canada.

I even tried creating a shortcut using Python, but OpenAI said I’d need to buy a personal API key, which I didn’t think was worth it.

Long story short, I’ve tried everything, but I couldn’t fix it. If anyone has figured it out, please let me know!

Apple Intelligence is such a massive disappointment that the only redeemable part is the ChatGPT integration ... and yet that totally does not work. 9 times out of 10 I get this "not available at this time" message. I checked every possible reason. I keep reading that the issue is due to ChatGPT being down, which is obviously false because I use ChatGPT constantly and it's never been down, while it's always not working with Siri.

Has anyone heard anything from Apple about this? Are they working on a fix ?

This may be because you are using the gpt chat with siri in a country where the gpt chat does not work. For example, in Russia I installed English and America in my phone and the AI worked, but there is no request to the gpt chat from siri, because in Russia it is only available from VPN, and because of this, I also get a notification

Same exact text, “ChatGPT is unavailable at this time, try again later” it’s so frustrating, i’ve contacted Apple support, but they didn’t help me fix my problem. They said it was something about my region, which is in Hong Kong. But according to the Internet, Hong Kong users are also able to use the feature of ChatGPT. I hope Apple fixes it. However, I’m not exactly sure if Hong Kong users are able to use ChatGPT. The phones manufacturer was in Hong Kong. I hope this gets fixed and has an explanation. I am really eager to use this feature. I’m keen to try it out.

You are in a banned country. Use VPN in the system level. It's probably you are using a proxy, that is not the system level. Like, your "VPN" works in a browser, but not in the system level. You should use a VPN client that can work in the system level, like Hiddify App, open a VPN client with root (admin) privillegies, switch to VPN mode (not proxy) and now you can access ChatGPT in Siri.

That's literally how I fixed the issue.

So, again, this is not an issue with OpenAI or Apple!

Your "VPN" just doesn't work in the system level, it works in browser, but not in the system level.

The most important consideration is: Open your VPN client with ROOT (ADMIN) privillegies, switch to VPN Mode.

Vpn clients by default cannot make your vpn work in the system level without root (admin) rights.
