Is it possible to set Caller ID only for my contacts on my iPhone?

Good afternoon,

I use an iPhone14 and have the following question. Is it possible that my Contacts see each other's numbers and unknown numbers do not see your phone number?

In other words.... Caller ID only for my Contacts. So the setting on the iPhone is Anonymous but your Contacts do see your number.

One possibility would be..... for example #31# is now not visible. Set your iPhone to Anonymous and then a visible code for the number of your Contacts.

Maybe it is much simpler.... but I do not know.

Greetings, Willem

It is not global. For the Netherlands the vertical service code to block caller ID is *31* or #31# (KPN)

(Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caller_ID)

There is no code to unblock for Netherlands listed, so as IdrisSeabright suggested you need to ask your carrier, or see if that information is listed on their website. The code to unblock in North America is *65, so you can experiment with that.

Vertical Service Codes, like the one in your post are carrier-specific. Your contacts will not see each other’s numbers unless they have each other’s numbers in their respective contacts apps.

I don’t know what your second paragraph means. If you don’t want to transmit your phone number when you make any call there is a setting to disable Caller ID in Settings/Apps/Phone. If you just want to do it for one call precede the number with *67

No, your contacts can't see any information on your phone, including other people's phone numbers. If someone shows up as an "Unknown Caller", they are calling you so they already know your number.

I don't know what that means.

Caller ID is a carrier feature. You should contact yours and find out what options they offer.

So Caller ID is OFF and a prefix for my Contacts so that they can see that I am calling.

You woud have to enter the prefix into every number in your Contacts.

CORRECTION!

After initially working fine, yesterday the processing of a telephone number, with the aforementioned prefix, stopped. In other words... for reasons that are unclear to me, the prefix no longer works. The numbers come in as unknown callers, while it should be the other way around.

Despite everything, Merry Christmas!
