Final Cut Pro 11.0 Bugs: Black Clips, endless render, Will not export without error

After updating to FCPX 11.0...

  • Clips are turning black on the timeline, sometimes they playback sometimes they just black out.
  • Some clips will not render.
  • I get errors when I export. I tried exporting a prores file, exporting in chunks, exporting with compressor. all get an error that is tied to a clip. Its a different clip everytime.

What I've tried:

• Deleting render files and cache..

I have not deleted the prefs and I'm hoping I don't have to because I don't want to lose my workspaces and keyboard shortcuts.

Keyboard shortcuts are not deleted when you delete preferences.

Workspaces can easily be set aside and then put back.

From Final Cut Pro choose Window->Workspaces->Open Workspace Folder in Finder.

Copy the contents of this folder to a safe place - for example, create a folder under your Movies folder called "My FCP Workspaces", so you can easily find them.

After you reset the preferences, quit FCP and put these workspaces back. Done.

Im trying to troubleshoot this because I have a project finished but I just cant export it and it needs to be delivered.

I exported the project XML from my M1 Mini osx 15.1.1 FCPX 11 and tried to open it on my MBP osx 14.5 FCPX 10.8 but I'm getting this error. DTD version is not recognized. Ive never used XML files before. Is there any settings I should look out for?
