iPhone XR network stuck on EDGE after factory reset

Why is my iPhone XR network connection displaying EDGE despite setting it to LTE. I came back from a journey in October and my data connection that was working perfectly well suddenly changed to EDGE? Why did that happen and what do I need to do?

I’ve restored my to phone to factory setting to be used as new, I’ve reset the network too. I don’t know what I else to. I had to buy an iPhone 11 but the XR has been useless since then. I can make call and receive call but the EDGE thing still persists.

Back it up. Put it in recovery mode and restore ios using your computer. Do NOT restore your backup.

Test it. If it works, erase it and restore the backup. if it fails after that, whatever is wrong has wormed its way into the backup. You’ll have to erase and set up as a new device.

If restoring ios and setting it up as a new device doesn’t work from the beginning, make an appointment at the Genius Bar. It’s a hardware problem.

Given the age of that phone, it might be a good time to consider buying something new rather than paying for an out of warranty replacement.
