Missing 'Merge Duplicates' option in Contacts on iPhone

Lots of people are searching for answers to fix their duplicate contacts; checking multiple devices, logging into iCloud, etc., with no success because the 'merge duplicates' option isn't appearing anywhere, including under their card in Contacts. This is what fixed the issue for me: I opened the Contacts app on my mac. On the menu at the top left of the screen, under 'Card' in the drop-down menu, there is the option 'Look for Duplicates'. That fixed the issue for me, and instantly sync'ed my iPhone to repair the problem. I hope this fix helps others.

I would have posted in the original 2024 thread, but Apple and so many other companies have the annoying habit of closing unresolved threads when no one has posted recently. I wish that practice would stop; many times people don't post simply because it's an issue of 'me too' and everything has been said already (aside from the fix).
