Apple Intelligence download stuck on macOS 15.2

I updated macOS this week when the official launch came of Sequoia 15.2 because I wanted to get the new Apple Intelligence features. I also updated my iPad at the same time. Within a few hours my iPad had downloaded the Apple Intelligence models and I was able to use the features. On my M1 MacBook Pro - which I have checked is connected to a fast fibre wifi connection (not a hotspot or cellular data) and has been left plugged in to charge (as per instructions) it has been stuck on "Downloading..." for several days now (in the panel in System Settings for "Apple Intelligence & Siri"). I have rebooted a few times. What else can I do?

I thought I would update to report that the problem is still not resolved with the update to macOS 15.3. Whilst it seemed promising to begin with, the problem has shifted but is still essentially the same. Now when I selected System Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri, in the second pane of the dialogue it has the message "Downloading support for Apple Intelligence. Connect Mac to Wi-Fi and power while models are downloading". There is an animated moving circle and every time I reopen the window it starts at 0% complete... - then quickly updates to 100% complete... - but it remains there and never progresses. I have restarted and reopened the window many times and it seems stuck yet again. Has anyone else found a fix for this?

I have exactly the same issue with MacOS 15.2 on my M1 Mac Studio.

Strangely though, my wife's account (on the same computer) has fully functional Apple Intelligence. All the features are working perfectly when she logs in under her name.

Several restarts later, and when I login the Apple Intelligence is still stuck on "Downloading..."

Perhaps I just need to wait for 15.3... Not happy

I've been unable to research fixes beyond command line stuff where I have to turn SIP off and on and I feel that if Apple rolls out an official update that's broken, it should be fixed by Apple rather than users who don't feel confident to do so. An iOS 18.2.1 bug fix update came out today but it doesn't seem that a macOS 15.2.1 update exists - I was hoping this might be out to fix this problem given the 60 odd "me too" votes for this post alone. Does anyone know if the fix for this bug is included in the upcoming macOS 15.3 update?

I've managed to fix this but not sure if it will work for others. I toggled Apple Intelligence off and on again. This didn't fix things but then I noticed that the Language setting in the Siri Requests section had no selection (previously this had been set to English (United Kingdom). I got an error message whenever I tried to select English (United Kingdom) again. I then selected Arabic (top of the list) which I was able to select. After successfully selecting Arabic I selected English (United Kingdom) and this was now selectable. I then turned off Apple Intelligence, rebooted, and turned on Apple Intelligence again. This time the components downloaded quickly and the feature became available. It felt like I got it working by lots of clicking rather than anything clearly repeatable.

Thank you for the suggestion - I did this in response to your recommendation - and read that this deletes caches etc so was hoping to see a result. Unfortunately after several hours there doesn't seem to be any noticeable change at all. In the "Storage" tab of System Settings under MacOS, Apple Intelligence is listed as taking up 5.5GB and this has been the case for several days.

Anyone know more about error code 44? It looks to me like my Mac is requesting files from apple that don't exist.
