My brand new iPhone 18 battery is draining much more quickly than my husband's (set up on same day). In settings under Battery it says Ongoing Device Setup. Is that the reason? My phone is already all set up. Is there anything I can do?

I've had this happen too. All I did was leave the iPhone plugged into A/C over night allowing the setup background activity to finished by morning. The Ongoing Device Setup message under Battery was not longer there.
It took mine about 3 days. I have over 700 apps and data, 17,000 photos and videos etc.
Thank you. How does your battery do? The message is now gone and I am wondering about how to stop Photos from showing "background activity". Will that help battery strength? This is a brand new phone.
It’s doing fine. I’ll no better tomorrow around noon ET. That’ll be 4 days for me. Here’s my battery usage for last 10 days. I highlighted Thursday, first full date after update.
All those apps are doing things in background. Mostly indexing. Safari has 500 open tabs, Mail has 26,000 unopened emails, daily health records going back to early 2017 and on and on.
