restore stickie notes from Yosemite os x crashed hard drive image

I have some info I stored on an old computer. it was running Mac OS X Yosemite. the info was stored on a sticky note. the computer crashed and I have an image stored on a drive. I have found the library/stickiedatabase not sure how to open it and go from here

MacBook Air, macOS 13.4

Try placing it at the same location on your current Mac. Then launch the Stickies app to see if it will automatically pull in those notes or convert that database to the new style & location.


Here is a somewhat recent forum post which has a bit of information about the various Stickies' databases & locations. See @VikingOSX (2 posts) and probably @embee_HH's post where the latter has step by step instructions to reset the macOS configuration setting if you previously had imported/converted Stickies.

I would try my suggestion first as it is the easiest one. And @embee_HH's post will destroy any existing Stickies notes.
