New Ipad Pro no ultra wide angle

Why did Apple cancel the ultra-wide lens, and is there a workaround?

I just purchased another new Ipad Pro. I'm very disappointed Apple deleted the ultra-wide-angle lens. This is a $2000 iPad, and they deleted a commonly used option. I have had multiple iPad Pros, and we use them for our work, and not having this option adversely affects the use of this device.

Thank you

I do have an iPhone 16 Pro and occasionally use it; however, transferring images to the iPad takes time as the software we use is on the pads and easier to navigate than the iPhone. I don't understand why they would delete this feature. It is close to an iPad Air for me, which we had and didn't use due to this and the lack of a flash. For me, it is a huge step backward and may, for the first time, make me look into other tablets for our company. I have been using Apple since the early days. I would return this if I could. It is almost useless now. We take the image and it goes directly into the software. Had I known I would not have purchased it. Actually I may see if I can return it.

Contributors here are all end-users, just like you. Other than information published by Apple, nobody here has any insight into Apple’s product design decisions.

Presumably you refer to the iPad Pro M4 - that now has only one main rear camera. As the ultra-wide camera module is not a feature of the Pro M4, your only option is to use the single main rear camera - and accept that the available camera does not have the wider optical-field of the ultra-wide camera found on some earlier models of iPad Pro.

Have you considered using a recent model iPhone - some of which feature substantially better camera arrays than iPad? An Phone is also considerably easier to orient and use.
