You are dealing with a 10 year old car, with out of date software. Often with older cars, there can two primary reasons a phone won't connect.

  1. The phone still has the same name as the previous phone in Settings > General > About > Name
  2. The previous phone wasn't removed from the car infotainment system. You may need to refer to your owners manual about pairing and forgetting devices to have your car forget your previous phone.

"They never suggested they were having an issue with CarPlay, which by the way wasn't available in a Chevy Silverado from 2014. CarPlay didn't become an option for Silverado until 2016. They were clear they were having a Bluetooth pairing issue. You clearly either didn't read or perhaps understand the issue."

Syncing a Car with Bluetooth:

A. Try being in Park:

For many, they must have their automobile in park to get this to all pair.

So you changed the word from CarPlay to Bluetooth, yet still included the Apple Support Article about getting help with CarPlay. This is not the solution this user needs. Sorry, but you clearly don't understand the issue, so I don't understand why you'd post something completely unrelated?

'14 And iPhone:

I guess it would depend on the method connectivity. How does CarPlay not play any role here? Wasn't aware of the '14 CarPlay on the model.

CarPlay doesn't play a role here because the Silverado is a 2014 and Chevrolet didn't bring CarPlay to the Silverado until 2016. And again, the Author asked about connecting their new SE to the car via Bluetooth, so they also weren't asking about CarPlay.
