Apple Watch 11.2 with iOS 18.2 Mirroring no longer works when lowering wrist

I have recently updated my Apple Watch and iPhone to the latest OSes.

I used to use Apple Watch mirroring on my iPhone to monitor my heart rate during workouts. This has worked flawlessly for may iOS/Apple Watch revisions.

Now, when I lower my wrist, the screen on my iPhone blanks out (see this YouTube Video). I can raise it immediately to reconnect the AirPlay display. I've tried changing the "Raise to Wake" settings and this has not resolved the issue.

I have the exact same issue. Had not done a rowing workout in a few weeks. Then went to go rowing and the only time the watch is mirrored is when my watch is at a specific angle. My symptoms are the same as everyone else’s. I tried restarting my phone and watch to no avail. This sucks because I liked being able to see my heart rate when working out. I also wish they would change the airplay mirroring to stop timing out every 5 minutes. This should be a time adjustable feature. Ugh
