I bought an album on iTunes some years ago. I wanted to hear it but now realised it's not in my library and it's not available in the store.
How can I retrieve it or how do I receive a refund? It must be one or the other.

If the album no longer available in the iTunes Store, then unless you have it somewhere else, on your computer, in a backup, or on another device, then there will be no way to get the album again. You will not be able to get a refund. If you want it again, you'll need to see if it's available for purchase in another download store, or find a copy of the CD and import it.
