Hmm, I typically play X-Plane on my Windows rig, but I too have a 2013 M2 Pro mini & a Logitech Extreme 3D joystick. I actually haven't tried this myself ... as I didn't have a need to ... but will be interested, as well, if someone has and chimes in with the answer.

What I do know is that the Extreme 3D Pro is largely plug-and-play with macOS. While Logitech doesn't officially provide macOS-specific drivers for the joystick, X-Plane typically recognizes the joystick automatically.

As such, I would suggest that you just plug your joystick into an available USB port (you will need a USB-A to USB-C adapter), and then, fire up X-Plane. Go to settings and see if the joystick is recognized.
