AirPods Pro 2 sound very glitchy

AirPods Pro 2 sound very glitchy on iMac 2021 M1 version and on Youtube.

Especially when watching news clips and people are speaking into a microphone.

It sounds like a zzzzzz sound it’s hard to explain. Is this normal?


Noise cancellation is on.

Spatial Audio is off.

Conversation awareness is off.


My previous AirPods 2 were not glitchy at all.

The sound is very low on the AirPods Pro 2 as well and I have to turn the sound volume on my iMac very high to be able to hear properly. 

I have tried using both the small and medium ear tips.

I updated my iMac  to the latest version Sequoia 15.2 but it’s made no difference to the sound quality.

iMac 24″, macOS 15.2

Have you tried to reset the AirPods to see if the issues persist


Reset your AirPods

  1. Put your AirPods in their charging case, close the lid, and wait 30 seconds.
  2. On an iPhone or iPad that's paired with your AirPods, go to Settings > Bluetooth:
    • If your AirPods appear in the My Devices list, tap the More Info button next to your AirPods, tap Forget This Device, then tap again to confirm.
    • If your AirPods don't appear in the list, continue to the next step.
  1. Open the lid of your charging case.
  2. Depending on which AirPods you have, press the setup button on the back of your case or tap the front of the case:

Press and hold the setup button on the back of the case for about 15 seconds, until the status light on the front of the case flashes amber, then white. You can now reconnect your AirPods.

If the status light still doesn't flash white, learn what to do.
