They are not available to be used in Canada yet BUT if you have an Apple iPad or an old iPhone running an older IOS than 18.1 you can get them working and they work very well. If you haven't updated your iPhone to 18.1 or newer yet you can set them up wit your existing iPhone.

You just set them up in a different way via Settings/Accessibility/Audio and video/Headphone accommodations.

I have been using them on an older IOS since September (17.7.1) but they have been available to use as hearing aids since the AirPod Pro 2s were launched in September 2022. IOS 18.1 stops them working in Canada with the geographical lock. I used the Mimi hearing test app from the app store for my hearing test.

Hi Idris.

Note that what rasg is suggesting is NOT the Hearing Aid feature. While it may be a useful way to adjust your settings, you will not have the option of running the test or using the AirPods as hearing aids. For

that, you will need to wait for Apple to release an update.

That is not true at all. A couple of days ago I asked you a question as a response to a similar statement from you, whether you are hard of hearing at all, and I'm still hoping to get an answer. I doubt that you are or you might understand how important they are for many people with hearing loss who are already using them and why so many people have bought them and badly want them to work.

I have been using my AirPod Pro 2s as hearing aids using the method explained two posts back since September and they work really well for me as I have mild to moderate hearing loss. My left ear is bordering on severe.

Can you please explain to everybody how my ears now work really well with all of the frequencies that my ears were lacking, before I started using the AirPods, if they are not functioning as Hearing Aids.

They are really, really good and they definitely are working as hearing aids. Also awesome for music, phone calls, FaceTime and Apple TV.

The hearing aid function was first used on the original AirPods as far back as 2019 and then in September 2022 when the Pro2s were first launched. Hearing test apps have been around for years but most clued up people with hearing loss will have access to their audiogram to load onto the AirPods.
