If you mean the TV app which now hosts your video collection, you can search your Library or you can search the subscribed services. If you have a Library category selected, it should search that.
Nothing wrong with your question, but a previous post may have been removed for violating the Terms of Use for this site. You can view it below. Generally, sticking to any question you have like what is shown here will not be an issue, but some users feel the need to add extraneous comments just because they are behind a keyboard.
The only weird issue I have noticed is that Spotlight fails to find metadata (description etc) in .m4v movies while in .mp4 and .mov it works. Simply changing .m4v suffix to .mp4 fixes this. This happens also in earlier macOS versions.
Definitely post a screen shot of what you are seeing as that may help. Not sure what subscription you are being referred to.
I made no accusation on what you had posted, just trying to explain why some users see their posts removed. I did not see your previous post so have no idea what was said. We are you simply here to help.
Videos is where I've noticed it most. We are simply not allowed to search our own media. It always directs to a subscription for things I do not want to watch. The option to "Show Filter Field" has been suggested, but is a complete dead end. It is always greyed out. Always. Online, offline, no matter what I have selected. I am afraid this question will be deleted again, so thank you for the quick response. I am screenshotting everything as I go.
I promise you, I'm no keyboard warrior. Customers are going to be upset when they are robbed. You can see how severe that can become, what with recent events and all. I'm only saying this in response to your extraneous accusation.
Just a suggestion from a long time mac mini owner-
Lots of odd issues seem to be popping up with OS 15.x.x thru 15.2 which I now have.
Historically I have always used two apps to unwind some of the recent messes with upgrades
1) Use disk utility and first aid starting from the bottom of the list and going up to top
2) Download a long time available app ( since mid 90's) named ' Onyx ' which is free and takes a few minutes to set up. And in my opinion as long time user does an excellent job of cleaning up trash, spotlight, caches, and a host of system issues not easily found or corrected. Strongly suggest using Time Machine to keep a updated copy of your system before using. Seems that some updates scramble various doc id names via docs ( pdf or rtf or ?? ) such that Spotlight
works poorly if at all. In appox the last year using mac minis from 2014, 2020 (M1) and 2023(M2) I have had more confusing issues than in all the previous updates since my Apple ii plus in the early 80's- at 40yrs old. I usually wait a month or more before upgrading systems from previous. Until sequoia, face time worked smooth and with no issues- nows the improvements and apple intel have made a mess- see elsewhere here.
