An iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, or iPhone X isn't capable of 17 or above; they require an A12 or better CPU. Try downloading those applications to a newer unit on the same Apple ID first.

I’ve got iOS 18 - is there anything else that is not working or any queries?

If you have iOS 18, you do not have an iPhone X. iOS 16 is the end of the line for the iPhone X.

The iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR can run iOS 18. Maybe you have one of these phones. They have model names that are very similar to that of the iPhone X, but what matters is the hardware inside. Where the X has the Apple A11 Bionic chip, those three have the A12 Bionic chip, and two of them also have more RAM than the X does.
