screen mirroring broken with 15.2 update

Last week, before upgrading my macbook Pro Mac14,6 with the latest update 15.2, I was able to connect to my Samsung ** 7172 55. I have confirmed the bug with a second macbook air also updated to 15.2. The Samsung smart TV was already running the latest software and worked perfectly mirroring the screen of my Apple products. Now while the Screen mirroring software is able to list, and connect, it no longer displays. There is only a black screen on the Samsung, and then times out. Sometimes on my macbook I get the message it could not connect.

Thanks in advance, and have a nice day!

Is there a form to fill out for bug reports to Apple (as I understand this purports to only be a community support forum)?

To fulfill your request to make a Bug Report

Do understand.

Apple Will have to Test this issue rather extensively using the exact same equipment in your Specific Setup

When it comes to Third Party Displays, be it a monitor or TV.

Not so much as that falls outside the perimeters of support, unless the issue is coming directly from the Apple Operating System or Apple Computer

User wrote " Now while the Screen mirroring software is able to list, and connect, it no longer displays. "

This wording seems to imply, some Third Party Software used to Mirror from macOS to the Samsung TV

I once used such a software to Mirror to a Samsung TV Series 5 form an older version like macO 10.15 Catalina

The unfortunate thing is, this developer has not updated their software in 4 years

Could this be where the problems is ?

I have a 16" MBP with M3 Max chip. Until this latest update Airplay has worked perfectly for nearly 3 years with Intel and Apple processors using our Samsing Q7 display. Don’t know why it would all of a sudden quit working after upgrating to macOS 15.2. Two associates with MacBook Pro 14” M1 Pro chips CAN connect with the Samsung TV via Airplay. Another associate with a MacBook Pro and an M1 chip can no longer connect as of this week and is having the same issues that I am.

I submitted a ticket through Feedback Assistant.

I had the same issue today with my MacBook Air M1, it only found my MBP intel for mirroring over BT after the update and refused to recognise the Gigabyte screen I use most of the time.

I found a Reddit post claiming that removing (MyHarddrive)/Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver.displays.plist would help, but it didn't.

Without putting the .plist back I switched form my Satechi USB-C to DDMI/USB hub to Apple's original USB-C to HDMI adapter and then it worked. It continued working after I switched back to my Satechi again as well.

Edit: After updating my Intel MBP, I just used the original HDMI adapter (without removing the .plist and it recognised the screen right away.
