When I double click the side button to get to my apple wallet my 14 pro used facial recognition. On my new 16 pro it’s forcing me to turn on assistive touch. It there anyway no have to have the dot on your screen and not use the assistive touch

I understand. You need to disable Assistive Touch. Please follow this path,
iPhone > Settings > Accessibility > AssistiveTouch — disable, if it is disabled, momentarily enable and then disable again.
Scroll down to bottom of AssistiveTouch screen > Confirm with AssistiveTouch > disable

You are not required to use AssistiveTouch. Please turn off AssistiveTouch.
On a side note, double clicking the side button does not open Apple Wallet. Double clicking authorizes transaction using Face ID, prepares default payment method and activates Apple Pay.

tap To pay is what I meant but when I double click it brings up a box that says you must enable assistive touch
