I wonder if my whatsapp backup is corrupted because my whatsapp can't find it.
I clearly have icloud backup containin whatsapp. When I try to install whatsapp the prompt says that "no backup was found" Any ideas on how to get the backup back?
I have tried quite a lot of trick found from whatsapp FAQ and help sites, but no luck.

Its their app and their code and they have the APIs that access iCloud. But it doesn't surprise me they are blaming Apple.
Does the backup "appear" on the WhatsApp backup option?. Does WhatsApp appear as one of the apps on the iCloud backup list as an app that is backing up on iCloud.
Do you have multiple WhatsApp accounts? Are you trying to restore the correct one?
Ask Whatasapp support. WhatsApp is not an Apple product.
It could be that the backup is of the other registered number that you have. Try restoring from that one to see what happens.

Thank you for your insightful advice. Whatsapp raises their hands because the backup is not located in their servers and therefore can't access it. I am asking it here because the backup is in icloud and the whatsapp should recognize it but it doesn't

When i try to install the whatsapp on my phone and register the number, the backup option doesn't show the backup which is in the icloud.
Yes, when i look into the backup via icloud > backups I can see whatsapp under the backup file (containing data). The icloud backup was made a day before yesterday.
I do have 2 phone numbers -> 2 whatsapps. I am sure that I try to restore the correct one.
