My emails are going to the promotions folder after iOS 18.2 update

thank you thank you thank you!!! that was driving me crazy not seeing my emails

Thank you! The update is the worst.

Freakin put it back how it was. This category thing is unnecessary heartache and absolutely not asked for by any of Your customers

What works for me is to just tap on of the top bubbles, e.g. Primary, and it switches to "All Mail".

Or, if you want this to permanently go away - basically restore how Mail was before the 18.2 update, do this:

A. Tap on the Menu icon in the top corner:

B. Then select List View

It will switch back to the usual view without the Categories on the top.

I have the same issue. Several emails are not displaying at all in mail, they don’t appear in any of the categories listed, yet when I search them they appear. mail is broken!😞

I have seen the answer posted 12 times in just this thread. Not sure how it could possibly be missed.

This update completely ruined email. Needs to be changed asap

-Go to mail app

-at the top of the screen click the 3 dots

-press list view and it should put the old format back

Useful, thanks - I'm not against categories - the deep issue is why is the categorization process so bad out of the box?

If you don't like the categories (I think they're fantastic), turn them off. Tap on the three dots in the top right corner of the Inbox. Select "List View".

I often find that I like things better if I take the time to learn how to use them.

Wouldn’t know where to start. First comment I’ve posted on here and because it seemed related to my issue I replied. Apologies from the newbie. Been on to Apple three times about this now and basically they’re in the dark. Had responses ranging from “That’s how it’s supposed to operate” to “wait for the next update” and “delete all your mail accounts and reinstall.” Well that last one definitely isn’t happening. Thank you for your response!

Yep! Problem solved. The solution has been provided many times, yet instead of reading to find the answer, some think that posting the same question is the answer. Once again you have provided the correct solution.
