My emails are going to the promotions folder after iOS 18.2 update

I have multiple email addresses.

you have to do it for every different inbox.

i was doing it for all mailboxes and it didn’t work. Once I turned off categories for each separate inbox it worked for all my personal account, Gmail account and iCloud inbox

Turn off categories

1. Go to the Mail app  on your iPhone.
2. In an inbox, tap  at the top of the screen on each different inbox , then choose List View.

Settings, Notifications, Mail, Customize Notifications, Check All Unread Messages. That fixed it for me.

I think I fixed it for me-I found a way to go back to list view. Now I see my all my emails as they come into my mailbox but it still has stupid icons by each one.

I just tried this and it seems to have worked 🤞 I am so annoyed that this happened in the first place ☹️

This didn’t work for me. iOS 18.2 screwed the mail pooch.

My iPhone 16 pro max just update to iOS 18.2 and it got heat up so much and can’t even hold the phone. So disappointed

18.2 sunk the email ship ! Can we downdate this update ?

By removing the categories and using List View as described here, my emails are just like they were before.

Totally agree - cannot even begin to fathom how Apple thought this might be helpful. When I first opened my email I thought something had gone terribly wrong!

I have outlook which I use for work/ I prefer keeping them separate… but maybe I should switch - thank you for the suggestion.
